Allahu Akbar (الله أَكْبَر, Allāhu akbar) is een Arabische zinsnede die "God is de grootste" betekent. Moslims reciteren de term in talrijke omstandigheden, bijvoorbeeld om goedkeuring uit te drukken, wanneer ze een spreker willen loven of tijdens strijd tegen de vijand. Tevens wordt "Allah Akbar" tijdens de verplichte gebeden opgezegd, die moslims vijf maal per dag uitvoeren.
Akbar is de overtreffende trap van het bijvoeglijk naamwoord kabīr (geweldig, groot, belangrijk). Als de zinsnede wordt gebruikt ter vergelijking, zoals in Allāhu akbar min mala'ikatihi ("Allah is groter dan Zijn engelen") heeft de akbar de betekenis van "groter dan" of "belangrijker dan". Als het los gebruikt wordt, heeft het de betekenis van "grootste" of "opperste".
"Allāhu Akbar" staat op het midden van de vlag van Irak en langs de randen van de centrale witte streep op de vlag van Iran geschreven. Tevens is het de titel van het volkslied van Libië.
